In 2004, the weather looked bright enough to found a Skål Club on Samui. SKAL INTERNATIONAL KOH SAMUI was officially installed as Skål Club # 679 on March 12, 2004. Since then, the club was regularly represented at the annual Skål Asian Area Congresses as well as the Skål World Congresses.

From 2006-2008, the actual president served the BOD of the Asian Area as Director of Marketing. From humble beginnings with 25 founding members, the club has developed into the biggest Skål Club in Thailand. Highlight in the club’s history was the organizing of the 37th Skål Asian Area Congress from May 21-25 2008 with a record-breaking participation.

In August, Skal Samui twinned with the Skal Club of Bahrain and has since then established the “Discover Samui Package” with Bahrain. In addition, Skal Samui was officially recognised as the most successful club worldwide by Skål International for increase of membership in 2008.
